DOT MATRIX PRINTER Dot matrix printer's the commonly used impact printer's which uses its printer head to hit on the inked ribbon and the character are formed on the paper. Examples ÷ Epson-300,Epson LQ-310etc. Advantages: 1) Dot matrix printer's are cheap and easily available in the market. 2) They can make carbon copies of the print out unlike non-impact printer's. 3) The maintenance cost is low as compared to the other printer's. Disadvantages: 1) Dot matrix printer's, quality are not so good. 2) They are noisy. 3) They cannot be used continuously for more than one hour. Uses: Dot matrix printer are mostly used in offices, bankes or department stores where a bulk of information has to be printed.
